A detailed overview of the course, a Design Document is an important part of the instructional design process. It is created at the beginning of a project to ensure that all stakeholders are on the same page. Process: This Storyboard details an Articulate Storyline 360 course including instructions about color palette, fonts, backgrounds, and characters. It describes the visual elements of each slide in addition to dialogue and voice overs. It also lists the technical aspects of each slide.
Process: To create the storyboard for Level Up Your Sales Game, I began by defining clear learning objectives, focusing on practical sales skills such as building rapport, handling objections, and closing deals. I developed a mission-based narrative called Sales Quest to engage learners through gamification. Characters were designed to model various learner behaviors, with Alex acting as the animated trainer guiding the experience.
The storyboard was structured around three interactive scenarios, each presenting realistic sales challenges. For each decision point, I scripted multiple character responses aligned with instructional goals and included feedback to reinforce or correct learner choices. Visual and audio elements were carefully planned to enhance engagement, including camera movements, spotlights, and timed narration.

Process Continued: Gamification was central to the design, with points, badges, and a leaderboard integrated into the storyline. I documented each slide in Google Docs, detailing visuals, script, interaction cues, and audio direction to ensure a cohesive flow. To meet the 3–4 minute time limit of Vyond’s free version, I revised the storyboard for brevity and clarity while maintaining a strong instructional narrative.
Course Description: This self-paced, animated training video was designed to help corporate sales teams enhance their real-world performance through immersive, scenario-based learning. The module simulates common sales challenges such as cold calling, handling objections, and closing deals, all within a gamified environment. Learners interact with branching scenarios, receive immediate feedback, and earn points and badges as they progress—creating a motivational and memorable learning experience. The course aims to build critical sales skills in a safe space that encourages experimentation and strategic thinking.
